Sarasota Bay Watch Happenings by Larry Stults

3rd Annual SCALLOPALOOZA, August 3rd

Sarasota’s organizations, businesses, and citizens have raised $37,000 for scallop restoration over the last 2 years and over 24 million scallop larvae have been released into the bay thus far! Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute say that the efforts of Sarasota Bay Watch represent the “strongest, most aggressive scallop restoration project in the state of Florida”.

But this is just a start. We plan on making this year’s 3rd Annual Scallopalooza an even bigger success for the bay! The Sarasota Yacht Club once again is hosting this gala, which will be on Saturday, August 3rd – save the date! Look for more information about Scallopalooza at www.sarasotabaywatch.org.

We are looking for thoughtful donors to help bring scallops back to Sarasota Bay. Let us know how you’d like to help.
