Chapter News

Seafood Savvy FinalThis year the Sanibel-Captiva chapter of START will continue its work to improve local water quality through partnerships with regional authorities to minimize the impacts of runoff and nitrification.  The chapter also has plans to institute a new wastewater awareness and management program, and to resume Seafood Savvy, the program that was founded in 2009 to educate the public about the importance of choosing sustainable seafood. START and partner organization Sanibel Sea School are currently interviewing candidates for a Sustainable Seafood Internship, which will encompass the further development and promotion of the initiative in Southwest Florida, helping to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy seafood for many years to come.
