For over two decades, the Science and Environment Council (SEC), a not-for-profit consortium of the 40 leading science-based environmental nonprofit and government organizations in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, has convened discussions, informed policy and enhanced public awareness about science-based conversation and sustainable practices to protect and restore our natural environment. In early December, the SEC will run the largest environmental event series ever produced on the Suncoast designed to delight and inspire the community to connect on environmental issues and engage in more sustainable practices in their homes and business.
The Green Living Expo, running on December 2nd and 3rd from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, will highlight green solutions for energy conservation, waste reduction, water protection, local food production and nature conservation. It will be a two-day trade show featuring ideas and demonstrations about how to reduce our impacts on the environment. Admission is free with advanced registration; $5 per group at the door.
