Green Movies That Matter

START is a proud partner with the U.S. Green Building Council Florida, City of Sarasota Ready for 100% Clean Renewable Energy for All and Transition Sarasota in the screening of award-winning documentary movies that highlight important environmental and social issues. Some of the topics covered include the  environmental impacts of serving the typical American diet, the problem with plastics polluting the ocean and the effects of rising sea levels.

Tickets for the screenings are $10.00, including food and beverage service, and are available online at GREEN MOVIES THAT MATTER. Visiting with the participating green business sponsors and environmental non-profit organizations also will create some interesting networking opportunities. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration in advance helps avoid food waste.

The Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, FL 34232. The events begin with a social gathering at 6:00 Pm with the screening starting at 7:00 PM.

The Mote Marine Theater is located at 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL 34236. The events begin with a social gathering at 12:00 noon with the screening starting at 1:00 PM.

Be sure to take the opportunity to see at least a few of these outstanding documentary films.
