The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration held its 38th Annual Fish Fry on June 5th in Washington D.C. . Over 1200 people, scientists, government officials, congressional members and seafood lovers were in attendance at the event that featured sustainable seafood.
Seafood producers from Boston, Hawaii, Alaska and Louisiana were featured as well as our very own local producers. Mote partnered with the Chiles Restaurant Group, Anna Maria Fish Co. and Lola Wines for the event. The group’s booth featured farm raised caviar produced by Mote Marine Laboratory and home grown bottarga, a delicacy made from roe from this region’s gray striped mullet presented by the Anna Maria Fish Company.
Ed Chiles, START board member, owner of the Chiles Restaurant Group and partner in the Anna Maria Fish Company, said “We have some of the best seafood in the world, and it’s right here under our noses.”
