“April is a busy month for Sarasota Bay Watch volunteers! We will be hosting the Annual Skier’s Island Cleanup with our Riverview High School partners. Over 30 students will be helping to remove trash and invasive plants from the waterway island. We will also be working with neighborhood communities to get on the water with kayaks in Phillippi Creek to remove plastics, cans and other marine debris. Earth Day weekend will find Sarasota Bay Watch volunteers at Oscar Scherer State Park hosting a booth about our Scallop Restoration, Marine Habitat Restoration and Seabird Protection programs. Finally, our volunteers close out the month of April at beautiful Ken Thompson Park participating in the First Annual SeagrassFest. See you there!”
