While START has enjoyed a record year in fundraising from foundations for our various water quality projects, like many non-profit organizations, our donations from every day citizens like you have declined significantly during the pandemic. As we look to the holidays and this period of Thanksgiving, we hope you will remember START in your holiday giving.
Your donation will be used to fund our Public Education Program that is not covered by our other funding sources. This includes our monthly E-Newsletter that many of you read, our strat1.org website that we want to expand for 2022 and the updating of our water quality presentations, Red Tide & You and our Healthy Pond presentation, that are screened for civic organizations and local neighborhood communities.
We expect the updated Red Tide & You presentation to be in great demand as it explains how red tide blooms form, why they are particularly bad here along the Suncoast, what’s being done to deal with red tide and, most importantly, what each person can do to lower their nutrient footprint in our waterways.
