Red Tide Status Report March 20, 2020

Current Conditions
The red tide organism, Karenia brevis, was observed in samples collected over the past week.

In Southwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background concentrations in one sample collected offshore of Pinellas County and one sample collected from Lee County.

In Northwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background to very low concentrations in four samples collected from Gulf County.

Along the Florida East Coast over the past week, K. brevis was observed at very low concentrations in one sample collected from Palm Beach County.

Fish Kills
No fish kills suspected to be related to red tide were reported over the past week.

Respiratory Irritation
No reports of respiratory irritation were received over the past week.
