Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was observed in background concentrations in two samples collected from Lee County, and in background and very low concentrations in two samples collected from Sarasota County, for the time period spanning August 25ththrough September 2nd. Additional samples collected throughout Florida during this time period did not contain K. brevis.
