Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected in background to very low concentrations in thirteen samples collected in, along, and offshore of, Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties (southwest Florida), and in very low to low concentrations in seven samples collected in, and alongshore of, Gulf County (Northwest Florida). Additional samples collected throughout Florida this week did not contain K. brevis.
